Update

Cassie is having a great Senior year at Broughton High School. The time is going too fast for me. Cassie and I along with her friend Majesty and her mom went to UNCG for orientation last Saturday 10/24/09. Lots of good information and a tour of the campus. A beautiful campus. They really have their mind set on attending their so keep your fingers crossed that this will happen. Cassie takes the SAT again this Saturday 11/07/09. It is hard for me to believe that this time next year she will be away and out in the world. Pray, pray, pray. Jessie is sailing through 5th grade and really enjoying her last year of Elementary school. She is on the school morning news crew and can say the announcements in English and Spanish. She is also on Safety patrol and really enjoys helping the smaller kids get to where they need to be. Randy and I are both busy working our full time jobs as well as part-time jobs. Harley is enjoying being a spoiled dog. I hope all that read our blog have a wonderful day and enjoy your family!
Blessings!

The Car

Today is the day that we pick up Cassie's car. It is so hard to believe that my first-born will be driving in a couple of weeks. My how time flies. So we started going over some rules last night and hopefully most will sink in. I am glad for her that she is reaching this part of independence in her life. We are very proud of her and all that she has accomplished. Please pray for safety of the road for her and everyone else. Just kidding. Everyone else is doing great. Jessie is reading so much better now that she is in Public school. I am very thankful for my sweet family. Can you believe my youngest brother will be 40 on March 29th? I am getting old. An update on me, I have now lost 136 pounds and feel great. I am looking forward to going fishing a lot this summer. It is amazing what joys in life can be put on hold due to being overweight. I am looking forward to working in my yard, doing some painting in my house, etc. Things I can now do without tiring so quickly. Randy is great. He would like to have more DJ jobs than he has right now but things will pick up soon. Church is great. We are in the process of planning Covenant Sunday which is going to be very special. Hope everyone has a great day! Hello to all of our friends! Love You All!

When Friends Move

Let me start off by saying I am so glad that our family had the chance to meet and become good friends of the Castleberry's. We have enjoyed our family dinner outting's with them and sharing conversation with each other. The selfish side of me wants them to be here with us but the caring side of me wants them to be near their family. Family is so important when raising children. We will miss this dear family very much but will look forward to visiting them or having them visit us. Pray for the Castleberry's as they pack, travel and relocate back home. Pray for them to get settled in a loving church and pray for job situations to work out. Pray that Caleb, Laura Anne and Sadie will adjust quickly and enjoy spending time with their cousins. We will miss you but you will always be in our hearts. Hope everyone has a blessed day!

How do you get there?

I have been asking myself this question all day. How do I get to the place where I can accept a situation that I am so not in control of? I know you are clueless. Have you ever been told to deal with something even if you are not ready to deal with it yet? Have you ever felt like you are the only one that is having difficulty dealing with a situation so therefore you feel left out? I am praying hard for Jesus to help me accept what I cannot change but also to be content with it. Please pray for me to be happy and content with ALL areas of my life not just my home and church life. Now that I have gotten that out of my system. Cassie came home yesterday to show me her final list of High School subjects to choose from for next year. Talk about panic. I cannot believe that this time next year I will be finalizing College plans, etc. My baby is all grown up! I am so very proud of the young woman she has become. She has such great morals and ethics. She is so very caring. Jessie is Miss Independent already. She can carry on the most adult conversation of any child I have ever seen. I guess it comes from having an older sister. She already has a passion for people who are in need. It will be exciting to see what path she chooses later for her career. Everyday I am so in love with my husband. He brings something new to each day. I feel very lucky to have such a caring man to share each day. Now, back to the real world. Harley says "Hi" to Reggie and Sadie!

Thankful

Today is one of those days where I feel very thankful for so many reasons. I am so Thankful for a loving family. I am Thankful for awesome friends. I am Thankful that both Randy and I still have jobs during this economic crisis. I am Thankful for a place to worship freely. I am Thankful for my health and the health of my family and friends. The lists goes on. As I cooked breakfast for my family this morning I realized that so many people do not have a very long "Thankful" list. I want to encourage you to pray for those people who feel like they have very little to be Thankful for. We have a lot of complaints as budgets get tighter and more and more people we know are suffering from something. I always try to think of each day as a new day to correct things from yesterday and improve anything I can in my day to day life. I hope today is a GREAT day for you!

Dance the Night Away!

Saturday night was fun for both of the girls. Cassie looked so elegant in her dress and Jessie looked like a little party girl in hers. Randy and Jessie had a great time! I think this will be an annual event for them. Cassie really enjoyed spending time with her friends. I relaxed after getting everyone fixed up and out the door! As always I enjoyed our Adult Bible Study yesterday morning with Dr. Lennie Barton. It is entitled "The Gospel in the Workplace Bible study for adults". I had the gracious pleasure of keeping Nursery during worship and as always I enjoy those little kids. Landon was so very helpful and entertaining. Miss Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Laura Anne all enjoyed playing together and Jessie kept them busy for me. Boy, yesterday afternoon was so beautiful. Randy and I took Harley on the Greenway and he loved it. Last night was our monthly Shag Club meeting. We got some good things coming soon! Daily praying for my friends and family with Health issues. Hope everyone has a great week! Blessings!

We found a dress! I was impressed by the selections Cassie made. She is so excited about her dance tomorrow night. Now, I will take Jessie and get her a dress for her Father/Daughter dance tomorrow night. Nothing like waiting till the last minute but in my defense we just found out about the dance a week ago. The dance is at Marbles Museum in Raleigh. I know they will have fun because Randy likes to get out on the dance floor and shake his booty. Too funny. He actually is a very good dancer. He can boogie, shag and two-step. He has not mastered Ballroom, yet.... I would love to take Ballroom lessons someday. Jessie had a very good night at Tumbling. Randy, Cassie and I went and watched her and just hung out. It was nice. So, I found out last night that Randy and I will not be going to SOS afterall due to that is the exact weekend of Broughton's Jr./Sr. Prom. Cannot miss that. There will be time in the future for SOS. We may try to go the first weekend. But anyway, children come first. Did I say I love my family. I am also in the process of trying to find a weekend to go Deep Sea Fishing with my Dad. That will be so much fun. I am so looking forward to summer. This cold weather needs to go away. Our dog Harley will be glad when the weather changes. He does not like to go out when it is very cold. He would rather be laying around inside the warm house. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Hey Brantley!
